Key techniques for using standard response fire sprinklers include response time identification, operating temperature assessment, installation location selection, and system interlock operation.
Response Time Identification
Standard response sprinklers have a response time index (RTI) ranging from 80 to 350 (m·s)⁰.⁵, suitable for general industrial and civil buildings. Their slower reaction speed makes them ideal for locations where fires develop gradually.
Activation Temperature Assessment
Sprinkler bulb colors correspond to different activation temperatures:
Orange bulb: 57°C
Red bulb: 68°C
Color identification enables rapid determination of the sprinkler's activation temperature, ensuring alignment with the fire risk profile of the protected area.
Installation Location Selection
Upright/Downward-Facing Type: Protection area ≤ 20 m²
Sidewall Type: Protection area ≤ 18 m²
Avoid obstructing the heat-sensitive element to ensure effective water spray coverage.
System Interlock Operation
Maintain the system in a normally open state. Regularly test valve and pipeline functionality.
Automatic water discharge occurs during a fire. Manual activation is possible via end-of-line test devices or the fire alarm control panel in emergencies.
