Standard Response Fire Sprinkler Heads (Glass Bulb Sprinklers) serve as the core components of automatic sprinkler systems, operating based on the temperature-sensing properties of heat-sensitive glass bulbs.
Heat-Sensitive Glass Bulb Trigger Mechanism
The glass bulb is filled with an organic solution, with different colors corresponding to distinct trigger temperatures (e.g., red at 68°C, green at 79°C). During a fire, high temperatures cause the solution to expand. When pressure exceeds the bulb's tolerance limit, the bulb ruptures. This releases the sprinkler's seal, allowing water to discharge.
Water Discharge Pattern
After rupture, water flows through the sprinkler's deflector plate, dispersing to create a specific coverage pattern. For upright-mounted sprinklers, 60%-80% of the water discharges downward, with the remainder diffusing toward the ceiling.
