Fire Damper Maintenance

Routine maintenance must be performed regularly to ensure fire dampers remain in proper working condition. Manually operate the handle 1-2 times monthly to verify smooth opening/closing of the damper leaf without binding. If binding occurs, promptly clear debris from the valve body or adjust mechanical components. Quarterly inspections of electric fire dampers should include checking electrical wiring for loose or aged connections, monitoring motor operation for abnormal noises, and verifying control signal integrity. Perform rust removal and lubrication as needed (e.g., applying lubricant to transmission mechanisms).

Conduct comprehensive performance testing annually. Simulate fire scenarios: perform heating tests on temperature-controlled fire dampers to verify accurate closure at set temperatures; conduct remote control tests on electric dampers to validate reliable opening/closing actions and feedback signals. Additionally, regularly clean dust and debris from the valve body and surrounding area to maintain surface cleanliness and prevent operational impairment. Inspect the seal integrity at the valve-to-duct connection; if air leakage is detected, retighten or replace the sealing gasket. Maintain archival records of all maintenance activities to ensure traceability.
