Fire dampers serve as critical components within fire protection systems, primarily designed to control smoke flow, block fire spread, and integrate with fire alarm control panels for automated operation. Their core functions are categorized as follows:

Fire Damper Functions

Temperature-Sensitive Closure: When smoke temperature reaches 280°C (536°F), automatic closure is triggered via fusible links or shape memory alloy to prevent fire propagation through ductwork.

Manual Control: Supports manual opening or closing; some models require reset operation.

Smoke Exhaust Fire Damper Functions

Normally Open Type:

Remains open during fire for smoke exhaust; automatically closes at 280°C and interlocks to stop exhaust fans.

Normally Closed Type:

Closed during normal operation. Opens via DC24V power supply during fire, then closes again at 280°C. ‌

Remote Control Type:

Supports remote opening/closing via steel cable within 6 meters. Some models feature automatic reset. ‌

Interlocking with Fire Control Panel

Signal Feedback: Sends a signal to the control panel when the damper closes, triggering fan shutdown or other interlocking measures. ‌
