Products Description

The head that lets
the wall do the plumbing.
A K5.6 sidewall sprinkler with a 5mm quick-shatter bulb, rated to open at 68°C. Built for the rooms where a ceiling drop simply isn't an option - corridors, guest rooms, and retrofits where the branch line has to stay in the wall.
The Case for Sidewall
Most fire teams don't choose sidewall
because it sprays sideways. They choose
it because of what it lets them skip.
One branch line, not a grid
Pendent and upright layouts need pipe runs criss-crossing the ceiling void. A sidewall system runs along a single wall line per room, which means less pipe, fewer fittings, and a shorter install schedule on multi-room jobs like hotel floors.
Built for the ceiling you already have
Exposed beams, low plenum space, or a finished ceiling nobody wants opened - sidewall heads solve the retrofit problem that pendent heads can't. The head mounts to the wall; the ceiling stays untouched.
The spray pattern is the design constraint

Why the deflector-to-ceiling gap matters
Set the head too close to the ceiling and heat has to travel sideways before it reaches the bulb, which slows response. Set it too far and the spray undershoots the far wall. 100–150mm is the tested window that keeps both response time and coverage inside listed limits - it's worth flagging on the shop drawing, not just the cut sheet.
Where a sideways spray earns its keep
Questions procurement teams actually ask
Q: Can this replace a pendent head on the same project?
A: Only where the hazard classification and hydraulic design allow it - sidewall coverage areas and spacing rules differ from pendent/upright under NFPA 13 and GB 50084. We supply the listing data your designer needs to run the comparison.
Q: What's the minimum distance from the ceiling and side wall?
A: Deflector sits 100–150mm below the ceiling and within 150mm of the mounting wall. Full clearance tables, including obstruction rules, ship with every datasheet.
Q: Do you supply matching escutcheon plates and wrenches?
A: Yes - recessed and flush-mount escutcheons in matching finishes, plus the correct sprinkler wrench, are available as a kit or itemized on the same purchase order.
Q: What temperature ratings are available beyond 68°C?
A: The same frame and bulb housing accept 57°C, 79°C, and 93°C elements for kitchens, boiler rooms, or other elevated-ambient spaces - same K-factor and coverage.
