Products Description

One wall-mounted
head, 3mm bulb,
a full room in spray.
A K5.6 horizontal sidewall sprinkler built around a Ø3mm quick-response glass bulb. It throws water sideways in a half-parabolic fan instead of straight down - so one head on one wall covers what would otherwise need ceiling piping.

Two Numbers, One Head
Why "3mm" and "sidewall" belong on the same spec line
The bulb size decides how fast the head opens. The deflector geometry decides where the water goes. On this sprinkler, both are built for the same job: rooms where a pendent head on a ceiling grid isn't the right answer.
01 - THERMAL ELEMENT
Ø3mm bulb, RTI ≤ 50
A smaller glass bulb has less thermal mass, so it reaches its shatter point faster than the 5mm bulb used in standard-response heads. Under FM's quick-response classification (RTI ≤ 50 (m·s)0.5), that translates to earlier activation in the same fire scenario - every second matters most in the first minutes of a fire.
02 - DEFLECTOR GEOMETRY
Half-parabolic side spray
The deflector is shaped to throw water outward and along the wall rather than straight down. That asymmetric, half-parabolic pattern is what lets a single wall-mounted head cover a full guest room, corridor bay, or office cell - without a branch line crossing the ceiling.
Reading the side-spray footprint
Mounted 100–150mm below the ceiling on a single wall, the head throws its fan across the room instead of down onto it. Here's what that footprint looks like from above.

SINGLE SOURCE, FULL ROOM
The wide, asymmetric fan reaches the far corners of the room from one wall position - the reason sidewall heads can replace a two- or three-head pendent layout in small rooms.
ONE BRANCH LINE
Because the head sits on the wall, the supply pipe runs along that wall too. Multi-room jobs - hotel floors, dorm corridors - need one line per room instead of a ceiling grid.
CEILING STAYS UNTOUCHED
Useful wherever the ceiling is already full: exposed beams, ducting, low plenum space, or a finished ceiling on a retrofit job that nobody wants to open up.

Where It's Specified
Rooms built for a wall-mounted head
Hotels & Guest Rooms
One head per room, mounted above the corridor-side wall, keeps the ceiling clean for lighting and HVAC.
Corridors & Hallways
Long, narrow spans are exactly what the half-parabolic throw is shaped for - full-width coverage from one side.
Retrofit Projects
Where a finished ceiling can't be opened, the branch line stays inside the wall and the ceiling is never touched.
Low-Clearance Ceilings
Exposed beams, ductwork, or shallow plenum space rule out pendent heads - the sidewall bypasses the problem entirely.
